It goes perfectly with long hair as well as half long hair. This kind of hairstyle looks impressive on its own, or it can be decorated with various accessories, ribbons, and flowers. All possible forms of waves can form a basis for a half up half down hairstyle: Hollywood waves, natural texturized or beach waves. Half up half down can be done with twists, buns and/or braids.

I don’t recommend choosing a half up half down hairstyle for thin and straight, hard to curl hair, without using extensions. Otherwise, you undergo a big risk that the hairstyle doesn't hold all day. Or, for example, if there is much hair and no desire to use extensions, I would advise to make some voluminous braid, it’ll help to preserve the hair length.
